Hey there!

My name is Kellan, I'm 23 years old, and I suppose I'm what they'd call a "baby nurse", having only had my license for about three years. I graduated from Lord Fairfax Community College in Middletown, VA back in May 2021, and started my first RN position that August on a step down Med-Tele floor at Valley Health's Winchester Medical Center. As COVID was at an all-time high in our area during that fall, it felt a bit like trial by fire, and I feel like I learned more in that time than I would have from any other circumstance. There was significant emotional and professional growth for me during those first 6 months, and in my two years on that unit, I have been trained as a resource charge nurse and a preceptor, which I thoroughly enjoy. I plan to graduate from Old Dominion University with my Bachelor's in Nursing this spring, where I will likely transfer to the cardiac ICU. Until then, I plan on gleaning all I can from where the Lord has me!
